Most Expensive Fake Body Parts

They say we’re living in an age of artifice, and on many levels, you’d have to say there’s some truth in the statement. We’re eating artificial foodstuffs, replacing our tangible physical world with a digital realm made of code, and perhaps most startlingly of all, we’ve taken to replacing our own body parts with fake ones! But how much will it cost to slot together the new – and more beautiful (?) – you?

Without further ado, let’s take a look at some of the most expensive fake body parts in the world:

Tooth – up to $36,857

Considering a gold tooth to complete your ‘look’? Great idea! It’s possible to buy gold teeth for relatively affordable prices, but if you want something special, it’ll really cost you. The most valuable gold tooth on record was sold at auction in Stockport, England in 2011 to a Canadian bidder – reportedly the shiny gnasher had belonged to John Lennon of The Beatles!

Eyelashes – $700

It can be hard to nail the false eyelashes look without looking a little tacky, but there’s very little risk of that with Kre-At Beauty’s exclusive line of falsies, made from real gold and diamonds.

Penis – ?

Remarkable news emerged earlier this year that the world’s first ever successful penis transplant surgery had been carried out by a team of surgeons in South Africa. As far as we’re aware, penis replacements for purely cosmetic reasons are currently unheard of, but it can only be a matter of time. Penis enlargements and other treatments are already highly popular with under-confident men, but the overall health and life benefits are highly debatable.

Wig – $10,800

Andy Warhol’s iconic silver-grey wig sold at auction in 2006 for the astonishing sum of $10,800! The legendary artist certainly had style, and the chance to own the key tenet of that ‘look’ was clearly too tempting to resist for one bidder. Wigs can be surprisingly expensive, which can be a real issue for less well-off families in which a child is suffering from an illness that causes hair loss. If you have long hair and are thinking of getting it cut, bear in mind the Little Princess Trust, who accept hair donations for their charitable wig-making operation.

Buttocks – $6,000-$12,000

Want a derriere like Nicki Minaj’s? If so, you will almost certainly require the services of a cosmetic surgeon. The bizarre fad for engorged butts has seen plastic surgeons around the world receiving floods of enquiries about this particular type of enhancement. We’d rather spend that money on something crazy like… a car? But what do we know?
