The average car owner will use their car so much during its life that it can often seem more of an extension of one’s body than a simple tool, and as such we take great delight in picking the model, colour and raft of specifications when we’re shopping for the perfect motor. Well, for those that love to keep on top of the times, 2016’s roster of car releases has been growing by the day; which shiny new entries will you want to get your mitts on?

Cadillac CTS-V – €67,000

The Cadillac CTS has proven immensely popular amongst owners across the world, but in 2016 we’ll see the truly turbo-charged version of this piece of American muscle being released to the salivating public. A V-8, 6.2-litre LT4 engine from the new Corvette Z06 packing over 600 horsepower, all controlled by General Motors’ new eight-speed automatic gearbox; wowza!

McLaren 540C – €164,800

A McLaren? For less than €x?! I know what you’re thinking, but it’s true; Maclaren will be releasing an ‘entry level’ answer to its stellar 570S super car in early 2016. This will be anything but ‘entry’ though, thanks to a 0-60 mph time of 3.5 seconds and a meagre drop of 30 horsepower from the original’s 562!

Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 – €44,000

A 5.0-litre V-8 engine packing 550-hp; it seems that 2016 will be the year of the supercharged American muscle car, reborn! This is looking set to be a fantastic, and surprisingly affordable sports car when it’s released in 2016, and hopefully we’ll be hearing the engine’s wonderful purr in cities everywhere upon release. What’s more, McLaren have a website where you can configure your own 540c in anticipation!

Honda Acura NSX – Around €130,000

It’s been a long time since Honda (or Acura, when sold in overseas markets) released their stellar, speedy, mid-engine NSX. Reviewers swooned, John Public lusted, but over the years very little concerning the car was changed, until now. The upcoming NSX is extreme to its core, with intakes, pillars and grills jutting out of every conceivable surface, and with a twin-turbo V-6, plus three electric motors, this will be an auto worthy of its predecessor.

Ferarri FF Coupe – €270,000+

There’s something about the fantastic Italian carmaker that cannot be replicated by other, perhaps more reliable, manufacturers, hence why we are so excited for the release of the upcoming FF Coupe. A better-looking version of the rather unorthodox FF, the Coupe will feature a lovely 651-hp, 6.3-litre V-12 engine, and all those sexy lines we’ve come to expect from a Ferrari.
